Design of Connections for Precast/Prestressed Concrete Buildings for Effects of Earthquake is a report based on a study conducted by ABAM Engineers Inc for the National Science Foundation. It is the second phase of a three-part study on connections (Phase 1 resulted in TR-2-82). The work, directed by Douglas P Clough, presents a rational methodology for the derivation of connector strength and ductility requirements, suitable connection details for representative example structures, guidelines for adapting existing technology to regions of higher seismicity than Zones 1 and 2 are emphasized in the report, and recommendations for physical testing of connection details in Phase 3.
